Why does one of your red sliders face the other one and extend his legs on either side of the other's face and shake his leg at him?

[Edit]

Answer on turtle taping other's face

Turtles cannot tell girls from boys, so the one patting the face of the other is a male trying to find a female so he can mate.

When my children were small we had little green turtle die one after another, and I did research and found: 1. They have to eat in the water, it is the force of the water that pushed it into the mouth and 2: they like meat, I use to cut up beef heart etc. into small bits and had feed them, be careful, they don't have teeth, but a hard ridge and they can "bite" - it usually is just startling as you never think of a turtel biting.
