Normally, it takes place in the leaves because it absorbs most of the sun's energy than any other part of the plant. When photosynthesis takes place, sugar(glucose) is made to feed the plant, so it basically takes the sunlight from the leaves to provide energy for the plant.

It is the green pigment, chlorophyll that helps the plants photosynthesis. The parts that are white means that there is no sign of chlorophyll thus photosynthesis is unable to take place.

What part of the plant captures light for photosynthesis?

The green leaves are the bit that absorbs in the sun to make Photosynthesis. Also if you want to test for starch to boil the leaf till it goes white then drip some Iodine And look for a signs traces of starch. That is the long way to find out if the leaves are the ones who develop the phase of Photosynthesis. Hope this helps!

What is the importance of having many different pigments in leaves?

Green : Helps in Photosynthesis. White/Colourless : Helps in storing food. Coloured : Attracts the birds/ insects for external pollination

Why leaves have starch?

Starch is the main carbohydrate found in plant tubers and seed endosperm in the form of granules. Starch contains mylose and amylopectin molecules. It is found in various carbohydrates such as white bread, potatoes, beans and rice.

How do flowers fruits roots and white areas on leaves get their energy?

By respiration: glucose + oxygen gives carbon dioxide + water. This process releases energy. Photosynthesis is the exact reverse and absorbs energy.

What is the white film that gets on the leaves of Azalea plants?

A healthy azalea should not have a white film on the leaves. White film on the leaves of an azalea are a symptom of mildew, a common plant disease. Use a broad-spectrum fungicide to kill the mildew, and remove any dead or fallen leaves to cut down on mildew spores in the area. To prevent mildew in the first place, do not overwater your azaleas and ensure they have good draining soil and adequate sunlight to help dry leaves and flowers after a rain.

What mostly happens to the rate of photosynthesis as white light levels are decreased?

It decreases. Photosynthesis depends on the availability of light.
