Apparently, this is a common problem. I've read tons of complaints on this company's tvs, and their customer service. Dont know how to fix it, but I would not recommend buying from them in the future.

If it turns off then probably the power had a little or long block out or you accidentally was sitting on the remote or your sibling changed it. If it turns on probably you sat on the remote or your sibling changed it on or someone fixed your TV to turn on by a button.

Some TV's are designed to switch themselves off, if there is no signal for a few minutes. It detects the sync pulses. If they are missing, it starts a countdown timer and switches off at the end, if no pulses are detected.

Switching on by itself? I dunno. maybe a sticky button on the remote. Try hiding the remote or taking the batteries out, see if it still happens.

It can be loose your television set plug.

It can be the settings on your television. Televisions now have power saving modes which mean that when you have not changed a channel or adjusted the volume or the tv gets a close down signal from a tv station then your tv will switch off in to stand by mode.

Does the TV's indicator light come on or blink when you turn on the tv from the remote? Have you tried to turn the tv on from the TV itself (not using the remote)? You can try turning it on from the TV itself (the on/off buttons on an LCD/LED/Plasma are generally found on the side, or the back of the tv, near a side).

Does excessive heat turn a television off by itself?

It's possible - A TV remote works by using beams of infra-red light to communicate with the receiver in the TV. If sunlight falling on the receiving sensor matches the frequency of the remote, it can turn the set off. It happened to my old TV a few times - until I changed the position of the set !
