Years upon years of errosion and constant quick flow of water will likely cause a river to grow deeper. The best example of the result of long-term errosion and rough waters lies within the Grand Canyon. Inside the Grand Canyon lies the Colorado River.

The depth of a river can increase because of heavy rain, also various points of rivers can be deeper than others. If a river's bedload is also very high (Rocks, algae and things which fall in and collect up), then the depth would decrease, not having as much space to flow in.

With "River morphology" we refer to the field of science dealing with changes of river planform and cross-section shape due to sedimentation and erosion processes. In this field the dynamics of flow and sediment transport are principal elements.

Why does the velocity of the river increases downstream?

It won't increase BECAUSE it goes downstream. Rather, the speed of the river depends on other factors, such as how narrow the riverbed is, or on the slope.

What is an increase in velocity called?

Why does the float time of a river increase or decrease?

hi there the reason for this is if you are mesuring the float time near the source of the river then it will take longer because the river needs to build up velocity as the river travels down steam is you take you data near the mouth of the river that float time will be shorter because the river velocity will have increased in speed i hope i helped out.

What has to happen to a car's acceleration and velocity for a car's speed to increase and have a positive acceleration?

The velocity has to increase in a positive direction. The increase in velocity in a positive direction is a positive acceleration.

The technical term for a speed river?

it's velocity...it's velocity...

Why velocity of flow will decrease with increase in peripheral speed of francis turbine?

the peripheral velocity of the turbine is the around velocity. the increase in the velocity of the peripheral will decrease the velocity of the flow towards the turbine

Stream gradient role on stream velocity?
