There is a drain point at the back of your fridge at the bottom. This is probably clogged. Remove the gunk out of it, and it should be as good as new. Helen
A good way to see if you have a leak in your pool is to # take a bucket and fill it with water from your pool. # mark it at the water level. # mark the pool at the water level. # wait a few days if there is no leak in the pool then the water level in the bucket should have reduced by the same amount as the water level in the pool, however if the water level in the pool has gone down more then the water level in the bucket you have a leak in the pool or in the pipes around the pool.
If the ground on the outside of the pool is is reasonably wet you may find that water will seep into the pool where it leaks. Be careful with an empty pool ground water can make them float up and out of position if you do not have a hydrostatic valve in the bottom.
I had a leak in the bottom of our gunite mosiac tile covered pool and was able to find it by lowering the water level to about 1 foot then dropping red dye slowly around the perimeter of the pool. The dye headed straight to the leak. We fixed the leak and have not had a problem since. To find a leak in a vinyl you can use the red dye, although the easiest thing to do is call your pool dealer and have them come and with a leak detector. Then use a clear patch or scrap piece of your liner(always cut in the shape of circle).
no, it probably just means someone went in the pool with dirty feet.
At the bottom of the pool.
a leak
leak
more water is on top of it putting more weight on the water at the bottom
Answer 1:IF you can get in the pool, brush dirt off bottom and look for anything that looks like a crack or small hole. This is easy to do in the shallow end.IF you see something after you have brushed the bottom or sides, the next step is to get a dye tester from pool store. Squirt the dye into the suspected leak area.Be careful not to actually touch the surface of the pool liner, though.if the dye swirls harmlessly that is not a leak IF the dye seems to go into the spot you are testing that is a leak Do NOT waste money on peel & stick vinyl pool patches if you are patching a liner underwater. They will NOT stick. Use the patches that require glue. Also advise swimmers NOT to use the pool pole to retrieve items from the bottom. The unprotected end is sharp enough to gouge the liner.I personally would not even take a chance using the pole end that is padded. If you can't find a leak in the shallow end and can dive to the bottom in the deep end, check that nextA pool pro can pressure test the plumbing to determine if the leak is in the plumbing. Also check for water loss around any external lines, like the backwash, or heater or the plumbing for the pump.Answer 2:In order to tell if the leak is in the structure or the plumbing you want to run an extended leak test. Check the amount of water loss over a period of 24 hours with the pump running the entire time. Then check how much you lose with the pump off for 24 hours. If the leak is in the structure (anything not involving the pipes - liner, light, etc) the rate of loss should be about the same. If the leak is in the suction lines (going from the bottom drain or skimmers to the pump) then you will lose more water when the pump is off. If the leak is in the return lines (going from the filter back to the pool) then the loss will be greater when the pump is running.
Place a bucket of water next to the pool and use it as a constant. The bucket will lose and gain water due to evaporation and rainfall at the same rate as the pool. Mark the water level in the bucket and in the pool and watch it over several days. Be sure not to backwash or splash water from the pool during the test, and turn off the auto-fill if your pool has one. If the water level in both drops at the same rate, you do not have a leak. If the pool loses 1 inch and the bucket loses 1/4 inch over the same timeframe, you would have 1/4 inch of evaporation and 3/4 inch of water loss due to other conditions, such as a leak.
The pool will leak into the ground if a hole is eaten on the bottom.
If water is seeping into the ground near your pool, then you obviously have a leak somewhere.
