Why does your 2000 ford f250 burn oil and smoke only when it is first started?

[Edit]

Answer

well its burning oil so you might have to change your fuel filter or you might just have a leak in your exhaust its an easy fix tho

Answer

This is usually a sign of bad valve seals. They can be replaced without removing the heads if it gets to be a problem. When you stop the engine for an extended period of time, the oil runs down the valve stems and enters the compustion chamber. Upon starting the engine it will smoke until this oil is burnt.
