You may need to have your engine compression tested. To make sure it's not mixing your oil and coolant together. This will be a sign of a bad head or bad head gasket.
because your engine is going to break down or when you start the car if the whether is cold, it makes it smell like gas
if you have a hard time starting the engine when its warm and you have a gas smell with poor fuel economy check you engine coolant temp sensor if it isn't working it could tell the computer it is alot colder than what it is and cause it to put out to much fuel. hope this helps also check your o2 sensor
im not sure its gas you smell. it could be but there is an extremely small chance of it being gas. fuel would have to be leaking into the air duct system some how and the two are not in any way connected. the air going into the cabin is completely separate from the air going into the engine. most likely its coolant. the heater core uses hot coolant from the engine to create heat if its leaking you'll smell it. other than a rotten smell from the ac that's about the only smell that would be in that system from the car itself. and that's caused by a dirty evaporator.-mechanic for 7+ years
why do my spark plugs smell like gas but the conductor is dry just the threads smell like gas and are also wet
because you just got done using it
Low engine coolant--when you step on the gas water pump runs faster and is calling for more coolant--check level
few things is can be one blow head gasket two crack head cylinder, I had that problem too smelled gas in the coolant found out the head gasket was worn out and letting coolant and oil mix in the combustion chamber
Not knowing what vehicle and engine you have you may have a faulty fuel pump leaking gasoline into the engine crankcase.
this is a natural occurence, dont be worried.
What color is the smoke? Black - running rich. Bluish - buring oil. White - burning coolant. When you smell the gas, it is inside or outside the minivan? Back of the car or near the front?
If a vehicle smells like gas there is typically a fuel leak somewhere. In a few instances it COULD also indicate that the engine is running "rich", meaning that the engine is receiving more fuel than it can burn.
headgasket leak and exhaust gas is getting into the coolant
