Lavender that has been over watered will grey and die. It needs really good drainage and not a lot of water.
Lavender generally grows best in a climate that is not too hot and humid. Caboolture (southeast Queensland) is an area where frequent summer storms can hit, and too much soaking rain will kill off lavender. If you try to grow lavender, either keep it in a well-drained pot, or have it higher up, where the water can drain away.
Basicly, it is water tension.
Dark rain clouds are what happens to every cliunds when it gets heavy with water. They look dark because there's allot if water and the water falls from them as rain.
