Hindus believe that human beings have seven basic forces and in Hinduism each of them is symbolized by a basic Hindu god. They are,

1. Dreaming force - Indra

2. Illusory force - Shakti

3. Voluntary force - Brahma

4. Semi voluntary force - Vishnu

5. Involuntary force - Shiva

6. Status altering force - Shani

7. Compulsive force - Yama

The Dreaming (Indra) force doesn't enable us to solve problems in the real world. It just enables us to hibernate in a dream world and thus wait for the real world to become hospitable.

The Illusory (Shakti) force is our last resort for solving problems in the real world. It is effective in solving problems which even the Trimurti can't solve. For the Trimurti to solve a problem there must be a reasonable or logical solution. Shakti can solve such problems by creating an illusion that we are greater than what we appear to be and thus we are better left alone by our opponents. Thus, Shakti forgives us and protects as like mother. In Hinduism cow symbolizes Shakti as it gives milk like mother.

Thus, cows are considered as sacred in Hinduism.

Thus, Hindus oppose cow slaughter by others, let alone eating it.

For centuries the Hindu society find cows to be more useful alive than dead. They are used to help plow, produce milk then cheese, also for fertilizers and many others. Thus they are more known as pet just like dogs in America. and just like Americas would hate the idea or eating a dog hindus hate the idea of eating cows. An animal that helps them so much should be worshipped rather than slaughtered and eaten.

in Hindu religion cow is called as matha, where matha means mother and also the god , they think as the mother is the creator , and also cow is used for milk purpose in Hindu religion family and Hindu think cow as mother also because they drink milk of cow,,,,,,,,finally cow is worship as the symbolic of mother and mother is creation of the whole human being so they don't eat beef

End note: As cow is sacred as mother Shakti so Hindus should also stop eating dairy products like milk etc.. because in the dairy farm "Shakti" gets extremely tortured ! So just not eating beef doesn't help Devi Shakti. Hindus, please stop consuming milk products too and end the hypocrisy !
they believe in reincarnation, and a cow is a sacred animal to become in the after life/ the next life after you die. They don't eat the cow not because they're vegetarians, but because they are afraid if they eat it they are eating their ancestor or someone elses ancestor
Hindus can not eat beef because in their culture the cow is a sacred animal. Hindus do not worship the cow but they do have a charmed life in India. They used to be a sacrifice to the Gods but now, people believe them to be more holy. Most Hindus do not eat any type of meat because they believe that every living thing on Earth has an Atman (soul). They do however eat plants and meat substitutes because they do need to live on something. Plants do have an Atman but they are lower in the Samsara (cycle of birth and re-birth) so they are ok to eat. Hope this helped someone...

Hindus don't eat meat because of their religion. They believe in reincarnation which means going up a ladder of life till you finally are able to get to a place beyond earth, i.e. Heaven. They don't agree in killing animals because. 1. They don't believe in suffering. Every life is sacred. 2. They believe that they may be reincarnated in their next life as an animal.

Beef is left out of what Hindus can eat because of respect for the animal which provides Indians with so many things, milk and milk products (whey, yoghurt, butter, ghee (clarified butter), khoya (remnant after thickening milk), cheese; things that are important in Indian diet and sweet preparations), calfs who would till our fields and pull our carts, and leather for our shoes. Moreover, cow is a pet in India. A cow will remain in the pen near the house for twenty years or so, and then she will be replaced by its progeny. Members of the house will tend to it. The children will grow up with the calves, and daughters and daughters-in-law will become pregnant along with her, and therefore, have an attachment with it. A cow could be one of the most important wealth item with a poor villager. That is why beef is a taboo with Hindus.

What do Hindu people not eat?

They can eat anything, but according to their religion they must not kill or eat any living creature. That is misleading. Though vegetarianism is appreciated, many sections of the Hindu society are traditionally non-vegetarians. Beef, of course, is taboo for most hindus. This is in respect to cows which are pets and provide a whole lot of things. Milk and milk products, calves which will grow up to till the fields and carts, manure, finishing material to adobe huts, and hide for shoes.
