Actually, they do have this info in some books. There is a great deal of info left out of some textbooks because of shear size of the book and they also filter info for various reasons. Sometimes what gets into a textbook is political and a good example of that is the Texas state history textbooks. A great deal of history myth is continued in some textbooks simply because the myth is now considered fact. Most of the founding fathers were slave owners. John Adams wasn't one, but Washington, Jefferson were slave owners. Jackson was backed by slave owners and owned slaves. He was for having Texas come in as a slave state and was the last slave owning president. Mary Todd Lincoln's family owned slaves, but Abe Lincoln did not.
