Why do people not like pitbulls?

People hate pitbulls or any mixes of pitbulls because of their reputation.People are very very very fearful of these very sweet and wonderful dogs.Thier reputation is that they are due to pit bull fighting. Or dog fighting also including rotwielers . And i also don't understand why rotwielers don't have a reputation.There may have been a series of siriouse injuries.But those were for the ones that were badly trained to fight. ALL pitbulls arent bron that way they are really loving and caring.And did you know that the most bites on humans from all breeds of dogs and mutts the golden retriver is the one with the most bites then pitbulls combined.And there are lots of people trying to clear the pitbulls name because we know that they are not stubborn or mean or anything so i don't want anybody to be fearful of this breed.They are really loving and kind so thank you for listening.

People don't like Pit Bulls because of the repetition that bad dog breeders have gave these beautiful animals. I have owned 12 Pit Bulls so far and I am 15. They are the nicest and kindest animal around.

The pit bull is the most abused breed of dog on the planet. Most people don't like them because they are considered 'dangerous'. But it is not the dog's fault if they lash out at you; they are most likely like that because they were abused in some way previously.

The pits were bred for years to be vicious fighter swho would not let go once they sank their teeth in. Almost every other dog will bite and run, but a pit will keep sinking hes teeth in until you die. 67% of human deaths due to dog attacks are caused by pits. In my area, pits have brought down and killed toy horses, women, children . . in fact a couple of months ago in my town, a family pitbull pet viciously attacked and put their 7-year-old girl in intensive care. Her face is terribly disfigured with scars now, and where her scalp was torn off, her hair will never look right, again.

Last year I ran into a couple that had survived a pitbull attack. The pit ran the length of a city park and grabbed their pug dog which the husband had put on his shoulder for protection. The wife had heavy farm boots on, and kept kicking the pit until it attacked her, but the pit grabbed the little pug anyway, and shook it to death for no earthly reason other than it wanted to kill.

Two years ago, a pit ran out and attacked a woman friend of mine who has worked for the Humane Society for years. The owner and a 2nd guy stood there and laughed. She was saved only when her goldern retriever ran back and head-butted the pit, and her little Jack Russell heroicly jumped on the pit's back and sank his little teeth into its neck.

It is not really prejudice, it is that pits can be triggered into a vicious attack. According to the Postal Service dog guide for postal carriers, pits and rotties are the two dogs whose intentions can never be predicted. That means they can look very friendly, then jump you. The only was to survive a pit attack is to give it your left arm (if you are right-handed) and hope that someone comes to help you.

Yeah, pits are great family dogs. Until they are triggered to attack, which can be for no reason that we know about.

I wish that owners of pitbulls had to be licensed to own them, and were forced to pay a bundle of money to their dogs' victims. Many states are simply outlawing the breed.

Because they're strong & unpredictable.

Irresponsible pit bull owners encourage it , and train their dogs to aggressive behavior if the particular owner is doing something shady. Good, family raised pit bulls are gentle with their people, but can be dog-aggressive when not properly trained.

Some people hate pitbulls because they think they're evil dogs. If you hate pitbulls then you're just like them, pitbulls aren't mean I have two. One I had since I was 3 and I'm 11 now and NOT once have she ment to hurt anyone, she only hurt people when she got in a fight with our other dog because sne won't leave her alone. It's how theyv'e been raised if they're bad or not. Watch or read White Fang and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Becaue they're often bred for not very nice purposes by not very nice people, which often results in not very nice dogs.
