The French hate everybody. Americans, europeans, Africans, Asians, Slavs, Turks, Native Americans, everybody.

Why? Because the French are just smart enough to realize that everybody hates them for their obstructionist and dishonest dealings with the rest of the world.

The thing the French hate the most? Themselves. They know that to a man they are all cowards who will surrender to anyone who challenges them. They know that their flag should be yellow on a yellow background.

No one hates the French more than the French.

Transplanted linguistic communities tend to be very conservative, retaining old forms and pronunciations that may become extinct in the Mother Country. For this reason, Canadian French is very old fashioned, both as to its pronunciation and its grammar, in relation to Parisian French, in much the same way that American English is old fashioned compared to British English, or Brazilian Portuguese is to the speech of Portugal. Furthermore, the French dialects of Canada descend from the speech of 16th Century country-folk, while the French of France is based on the dialect of educated Parisians.

This is mostly myth. People from France and Quebec can understand each other with a little patience.

But the truth is that the dialects of Canada are different than that dialects of France, so communication can sometimes be difficult. It's no different than a speaker of American English communicating in Scotland.

Is French language different from French-Canadian language?

Answer 1French and Canadian-French are not really different. A few words may be different, sometimes because they fell out of use in mainland France. But a Canadian visiting Paris will only be noticed by his accent (as would also French people from Northern France or from Marseilles).Answer 2Canadian French has strong dialectic differences from French used elsewhere. While the dialects are mutually intelligible, many French-speakers, especially those who learned French as a second language, find it difficult to understand Canadian French and joke that Canadians have invented a new language.

Do people in France understand English?

Typically, yes, people in France do understand English. France, like most countries in Europe, requires that students learn how to speak English, so most people one might encounter on the street have at least a rudimentary understanding of English. But be warned: you're in France, and they expect YOU to speak French. If you at least try, they'll be very helpful and use their little bit of English to help out with your French. But if you just go up to a French person in France and speak English to him, that's rude, and he will quite probably be rude right back, and serve you right.
