Why dont they have classes in high school to teach young girls HOW to be respectful WOMEN have etiquette?

[Edit]

Answer

Firstly, it's up to the parents to teach their children to have decent manners and to be respectful of themselves and to others, but, I do agree with you that they should also give some pointers as a subject at school. When I went to school in the 1950's they had these types of classes, but I learned more from my parents.

THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING ...I do believe that as well...I had one, he is 17 now as VERY mannerly and respectful...however I was VERY strict. Too many parents are single these days. Unfortunately, too many people do NOT instruct their children, nor young teens, so it is left up to teachers. Sadly, statistics show they spend more time with children than do their parents COMBINED. Young adults I feel need more guidance. But wishful thinking. I am only 39, yet VERY old-fashioned. It is indeed a shame they do not have some sort of agenda set aside like "no child left behind"..How about "no etiquette skills, no graduate" :( LauraK
