the electron affinity decreases down the group because new electrons continuously add in a outer shells that are far away from nucleus,so these electrons are less attracted to the nucleus and that's why releases less energy when added

As we know..electronegativity is the tendencial ability of atom to attract bonded pair of electron towards itself in a covalent molecule.In group as we go down electronegativity decreases from top to buttom.This is due to inreasing atomic size with decrease in effectiv nuclear charge.
