Why has the doc ordered a cat scan because my 6 month hold's head is growing faster than it should.? |
[Edit] |
For my nephew it was hydrocephalus (water on the brain). He was a premie and they said it was probably caused from an injury when he was so small and the head is so sensitive.
He had to have a drain tube put in that shunts the fluid from his brain to his stomach. They have to watch that and it will have to be replaced as he grows. Otherwise he is a very bright, normal 3rd grader and all is well.
You can find a lot of information by running a search on the word. (Warning, there is another type of hydrocephalus that is much more serious than his, but I believe it is a birth defect that has much different symptoms)
Hope this helps
