Why does smoking turn your teeth yellow?

That having been said, a smoker's finger nails will generally become yellow if he/she holds a cigarette downwards allowing the smoke to rise upwards towards the fingernails. Many people believe this yellowness is caused by nicotine in the smoke and it is even sometimes called 'nicotine staining'. However, this is a complete fallacy as nicotine, in its pure form, is a white, very poisonous, solid. The yellow color is actually due to staining by tar deposits in the smoke. In extreme cases the yellow color can turn to a darker brown as more tar is adsorbed onto the surface of the nail. Smokers need to be aware that staining like this not only happens to the nails and fingers - it also occurs mostly in the lungs, the lungs of a smoker being dirty brown rather than bright pink. It is the tar staining in the cigarette that can eventually lead to diseases of the lung such as emphysema and lung cancer.

when you smoke after about a year in between your fingers and your nails start to become yellow. why? because of nicatiene(srry if spelled wrong). nicatiene addicts you to the ciggertette, which is why it is hard for users to stop. the yellowing in between your fingers can be washed off, and if you quit smoking theing on your finger nails will go away, also every ciggerette you smoke decreses your life by eleven minutes. ok well hope this helps!
