Why haven't soap opera's been affected by the writers strike?

[Edit]
Because if episode, let's say, no 150 is being aired today, then if all goes well this should be the day that episode no (at least) 160 is in production, no (at least) 155
in post-production, but for that to happen the writers must be at least at no 200.The writers always have a significant head start.

The script is the first thing to be completed. Thereafter follows the a whole long process of casting, set preparation, some minimal rehearsals, filming, post-production and distribution. The length of the head start is not that long, as shows like to be fresh and topical, so expect some interruptions soon.
