Many people say 18 is a lucky number because in world war one 18 survived and killed off 200 men in one of the greatest battles we had.18 is a golden number in religions and modern science too now. It is the golden repetitive number in 1618 also known as Golden Ratio. This very number also appears in Acts 1:8 and Deuteronomy 18 18 and most of all it appears in Gospel Mathew 16:18 as location for the rock of church. 18 represents Sura Kahaf of Quran which is an end time weapon against anti-christ, 18 is the number of Bendictions for Chriistians and standing prayers or Amidah's too are 18. Buddha's positions are 18, Chinese(xbuddhists) now communists still keep 18 precious as lucky number. It is also know as number of life, chai, and contains a literal mathematical /\-RK which is the 8 in math of all world religions, the free masonic comp/\ss is based on pyr/\mid which basically is the /\. 8 is the unit of all creation I believe this number has been sanctified in one way or another by all religions with regards to end times sincew day one, and if we take electric power to be the Holy Ghost of Acts 1:8 then we will know this number is the Key to Redemption when it appears not only in Golden Ratio as Golden Numbers but also on the very right hand palm of redemption for each person too, not a single hand would read it to be 81 ever. it is the key number of the covenant of Creator with all Creation, man being most intelligent of all knowing right hand from left had been marked on the right hand palm, it is a book with powers inscribed on each right hand palm, a Torah, its a law, divine Deuteronomy of 18:18. IN maths a book only needs to have two digits to be called a book! 18 is book of life that records all creation in just these two number, 18 precisely! Its lucky for those who believe in this sign, and those who ignore this lucky sign which quiet well be the lost Digital /\-RK of 18 covenants and all divine books too numbered precisely same including 18 Psalms and the Hindu sacred 18 Puranas (book of ancient numbers as unique digital great seal of A1GOD for all creation without exception). Without 18 we would not know the path to redemption in any religion during endtimes, so much so that once this understanding of 1^8 on each human right hand is deciphered to be a reality no longer ignored, even for the Athiests this number serves as the only guiding light being Golden in Ratio of Creation, Rule of right hand law prefixed to Electro Magnetics of Universe further brings this number of science in co ordination with Signs and sense of Unique creator for us all, 18 is book of life, and 18 is the law that governs it, a law of r1^8ht hand!

Solar and Lunar eclipses too are bound by a fixed law of 18 years for a Total eclipse, it is known as Saros. This number proves to be a binding promise for Sun and Moon to redeem their pledge to renew another life after total eclipse. 18 is lucky again being golden number there too. What matters most is that right hand is considered lucky hand for most, especially religious folk, the hand of blessing is right hand, and so is it the hand of pledge and covenant, its amazing to see all right hands contain the number 18 on their right hands and never the left hand will read to be 18 but only 81. I had to share all this, its my job to try get peoples attention to a digital book of their right hands which appears in all corners of universe as a binding law which is also indeed the Book of Deuteronomy 18:18!

The number 18 isn't specifically associated with weddings in Judaism.

In the Hebrew language, there were no Roman numerals so each letter of the Hebrew alphabet were assigned a numerical value. The Hebrew word 'chai', which means life, has the total numerical value of 18. Due to the association with the word 'life', the tradition within Judiasm is to give monetary gifts in multiples of 18.

In the Hebrew language, each letter corresponds to a number. Chai, which means life, is composed of the letters chet and yud. Chet is the eighth letter and yud is the tenth. When added together, chai equals eighteen.

The number 18 stands for life. But to figure that out, you need to understand pre-modern number systems. Back before we had what we now call Arabic numerals (base 10 and the numerals 0123456789), different cultures tended to use letters for numbering. The system of Roman numerals is generally familiar, I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX, etc, but there were also number systems connected to the Greek and Hebrew alphabets. The Hebrew number system is called Gematria, and is still used for things like dates on Jewish tombstones. One feature that distinguishes Hebrew numerals from Roman is that the entire Hebrew alphabet is used. As a result, there is a numerical value associated with every Hebrew word. Life, pronounced Chai (the ch is hard, as in Bach or Loch Ness) is spelled Chet Yud, where Chet = 8 and Yud = 10 in gematria, giving the word Chai a value of 18.

What are some changes in judaism?

Judaism has had to adapt to not having the Great Temple in Jerusalem and to being mostly in countries where Judaism was not the majority religion. As a result, a number of rules specifically dealing with the Great Temple are no longer followed. Additionally, the Rabbis wanted to protect the observance of the Torah Laws by creating additional, more restrictive laws to prevent unintentional breaking of the Torah Laws. Finally, there was also the recent development of Liberal Judaism, which represents a fundamental shift in Jewish observance and belief. Using modern, and non-Jewish ideas to influence the way in which Judaism should develop.
