In Terminator II, John Connor in the future, reprograms the old terminator (T-100) (aka Arnold Schwazenegger) to protect his younger self, because the machines have sent back a better model (T-1000) to destroy John Connor in 1995. This is why Arnold Schwarzegger is a good Terminator.
