This is actually not true. Nearly 58% of the Egyptian population is rural, so the majority of Egyptians do not live in Cairo. Cairo, however, is the largest city with just under 25% of the Egyptian population. It is so large because it is the capital and a major tourist attraction. Therefore they need more people to work, and live in Cairo.

I live in Cairo , ( the meaning in Arabic means The city that could conquer invaders ) due to so many waves of armies that attacked it but they swept out at the end. However , I think that ( the City of Thousand Minerates ) may be the famous nickname for Cairo.
