∙ 11y agoThis is actually not true. Nearly 58% of the Egyptian population is rural, so the majority of Egyptians do not live in Cairo. Cairo, however, is the largest city with just under 25% of the Egyptian population. It is so large because it is the capital and a major tourist attraction. Therefore they need more people to work, and live in Cairo.
