∙ 8y agoSCrooge sees his sister Fan in Fred (Fan was Freds mother). Sadly his beloved sister died whilst giving birth to Fred. Scooge has not forgotten this. In additon, Scooge feels that having a sunny positive attiude as Fed has is of no good use in the world they live in at the time. He pushes away those he shoud care about based on his childhood experiences.

Abandoned at boarding school for most of his young life by hi father he missed much of the company of those family times especially at Christmas where he was the only boarder left in the school. Later he saw his dear sister die in child birth and then saw Fezziwig his employer face bankruptcy. He focused on earning. To him money was success. This took over his life and he lost his betrothed because of the golden idle that had taken her place in his heart. He became more isolated, shared little with family and worked as a way of not suffering the feelings of his past.
