So at high latitudes, instead of the Sun going down in the west, the sun goes down in the northwest, and then in the north-northwest, until near the summer solstice, the sun doesn't go down at all; it just dips down toward the NORTHERN horizon, and starts coming back up in the north-northeast.
In places that are only a little south of the Arctic Circle like Russia, they have a special phrase about this time, when the sun just BARELY goes down and then comes right back up; they call them the "White Nights".
