Iceland:

The first Scandinavian who deliberately sailed to the island now known as Iceland was Flóki Vilgerðarson, also known as Hrafna-Flóki (Raven-Flóki). Flóki settled for one winter at Barðaströnd. It was a cold winter, and when he spotted some drift ice in the fjords he gave the island its current name, Ísland (Iceland).

Greenland:

The name Greenland comes from Scandinavian settlers. In the Icelandic sagas, it is said that Norwegian-born Erik the Red was exiled from Iceland for murder. He, along with his extended family and thralls, set out in ships to find the land that was rumoured to be to the northwest. After settling there, he named the land Grænland ("Greenland"). Greenland was also called Gruntland ("Ground-land") and Engronelant (or Engroneland) on early maps. Whether green is an erroneous transcription of grunt ("ground"), which refers to shallow bays, or vice versa, is not known. The southern portion of Greenland (not covered by glacier) is indeed very green in the summer and was likely to have been even greener in Erik's time because of the Medieval Warm Period.

How did leif erickson navigate?

leif erikson was a norwiegen explorer (c. 970 - c. 1020) who discovered Vinland (Modern day Greenland). Like most Vikings of his period he probably travelled by Viking longship. No idea what that one is talking about. ^^ Leifur Eríksson or Leifur the Lucky. Had a father called Eríkur the Red (Eric the Red, in full English) Who was made outlaw in Norway and moved to Iceland. In Iceland he had a son called Leifur. Eríkur was also made outlaw in Iceland, so he sailed away and Eiríkur found Greenland not Leifur. However his son Leifur sailed from Greenland to Vinland which is in Canada. Leifur was born around 980 in Iceland. The area that Leifur found is now call Newfoundland. It was around the year 1000 he found it. Give and take one year. He sailed with a ship type called "Knarr" carries 20-30 people and could carry up to 24 tons of cargo. Knarr was used to sail between Iceland, Greenland, Norway, British Isle... almost anywhere in the Atlantic Ocean. However it was mostly used as Merchant ships. Longships are made to sail in shallow waters cause they only need one meter depth of water and they could turn around without turning the boat around. Those sailed from Sweden through Russia to Istanbul.

Where is Titanic at in ocean?

First, you need some grammar lessons. Second, the Titanic is located in the North Atlantic, south of Greenland and Iceland. The ship was traveling between England and New York City, to give you a better idea.

Did vikings give their ships names?

many viking ships had names given to them by their respective Jarls or ship-masters as per viking culture they would typically have names that would be fearsome or notable such as silver-wolf wave tamer storm rider wyrm breath sometimes even the wood used in the building could be a defining feature due to the colouring of the wood IE silver-wolf would be ideal for a ship that used a pale wood or wyrm breath for a ship that used a reddish wood but their where no specific name categories for viking ships unless you look at famous viking which then it may give you their ship names
