∙ 13y agoJonas is central to the plot- the plot revolves around HIM. HE is the one who is chosen as the Receiver or whatever it was called, HE is the one who learns about these terrible things in the world, HE is the one who runs away with the baby.
It wouldn't make sense from the Giver's perspective because it would be hard to learn about life before being the Giver. And none of Jonas' friends have any idea what is going on with Jonas.
