Why is Kaffa such an offensive word to black people?

[Edit]

Who knows the significance of the etymology of words? The fact is, it's considered a racial slur. The word Kaffa seems to be of South African origin and was considered to be a derisive term used by non-blacks.

Further to its origin

It was originally an Arabic word kefir which meant "infidel" i.e. non-Muslim.
Arabic traders (including slave traders) used it to describe Xhosa-speaking people, but it gradually came to mean any African, and due to its origin also came to imply "slave". In that form it was particularly used in South Africa , often in a derogatory way or in derogatory phrases.

Kaffa

Is the root word for coffee (hence the racial slur). It comes from the region Kaffa in Ethiopia, where coffee/kaffa comes from.
