This sounds like a lame answer but some it is for the same number of reasons why some people become addicted to alcohol, food, shopping, or sex. You probably have known people who went from one addiction to another and known others who seemed never abuse any substance. It is the way it is.
In theory LSD can be addictive if a person really really likes taking it, but it doesn't particularly create a physical or psychological dependency to speak of. After taking it just one time, ones tolerance increases and the effects of taking more weeks within that dose will be considerably weaker. Plus, LSD is a strong "experience" that many refrain from dosing more than once every couple of weeks or so.
