Miley Stewart's mother, Susan B. Stewart, died 3 years prior to season 1 of the Walt Disney TV show,Hannah Montana. The last episode of the series was shown at the start of 2011, but it was never clarified at any time during the series, nor in the movie, exactly how Susan died. She left a video for her daughter so it's probably safe to say she knew she was dying from a terminal illness, but we don't know exactly why she died.

∙ 13y agoBecause her mom died, Hollywood although didn't elaborate on it though all we know is that Miley's mom dies from something maybe it was cancer we don't know but I think it was probably from an illness because in the episode where she was all like "He could be the one" her mom had left her a video and in the video her Mom knew that she was dieing and that by the time Miley would see it that she would be dead. Which is sad:/ hope I helped:)

She was portrayed by Brooke Shields in season 2 and 3 by way of old home videos and dream sequences, and also appears in family pictures throughout the series. She died aged 33 when Miley Stewart was aged 10.
