I think it was the Father of medicine or father of microbioligy
Studying the history of medicine is inspiring and humbling. It's a reminder that what counts as "common knowledge" is always changing (e.g. digoxin, H.pylori).
Maybe then we can find a new way to improve the medicine or to learn how to know what chemicals are safe and which are not.
