She isn't powerful, it's just that with barely any training she can USE the force. As for why she beat Kylo, there are many reasons but I will give 3: 1- Yes, she is quite powerful due to dumb directing by JJABRAMS
2- Kylo was injured and says in the Rise of Skywalker novelisation that if Chewie hadn't shot hi he would've won.
3- In my opinion, Kylo is quite weak.
