There are many reasons this can happen. It could be it needs a tuneup, new air filter, catalytic converter is clogged, there is a problem with the transmission, tail pipe bent, or it can be it is just a low powered vehicle with an underpowered engine. If it has become slow when it was not before, then have it looked at by a professional.
