A tissue is a group of cells that carry out specfic functions in the body. Blood is considered a tissue because it composed four components: plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. This is connective tissue because the four components listed above are a group of 'connective tissue cells' separated by an inorganic material called plasma.
