Why is burping rude there is no way to stop it but burp inside of your mouth and people can still hear that and then your breath makes it smell anyway so why is it rude?

- Burping is a normal human bodily function just as gas can be and all humans experience it on occasion. The main reason for burping is because the person may eat too fast and thus swallow air while eating or a food that does agree with them and causes heartburn. It is not rude to burp unless someone gets dramatic about it and lets out a belch thinking it's funny, but the etiquette to burping is to do so in one's napkin. In some countries belching or burping is a must and lets the host know the guest enjoyed the meal.
