Drinking alot of water can mean a few things. Was your pet running, exercising? Was you pet just laying around and kept wanting to go out? Your pet may be ill, or ingested the wrong thing. Are you constantly filling up the bowl with water? Is the dog urinating more frequent? Is dog leaking urine in the house? Some of these or all are signs of canine diabetes, this can be treated in dogs, for more info check this link or email me at caninediabetes windstream.net http://k9diabetes.com/forum/index.php?referrerid=18

Could be any number of things. Some older dogs drink more. If your dog has been put on a dry food it will drink more. Check that the air in your house is not too dry and not too hot. After that, a trip to the vet for tests will find the cause.

When dogs pant, it's like their way of sweating. Obviously, when you get sweaty/exhausted, you drink a lot of water. It's the exact same thing with dogs.
