Parental favoritism is considered child abuse because it leaves lasting psychological scars on a child/teenager that carry with them through to their adult lives. Most children who were not the favored one suffer from feelings of inadequacy, depression, suicidal ideation, and just a general sense of not being able to live up to anyone's standards. It can also destroy sibling bonds as the child who wasn't favored ends up resenting the child who was, and there is also a lot of anger and resentment towards the parents as well as in life. Just like other forms of abuse, it can actually cycle and go through generations as the abused child tries to work through their own feelings and goes as far as to project it on to their own children or even co-workers, friends, and other people outside the family dynamic. Unfavored children also tend to be more negative in life and VERY critical of others.
Child abuse is a epedemic
The physical striking of a child can be considered abuse. Ignoring a child is neglect, but if the child comes to harm while being ignored that can be considered abuse.
if it is diciplenary by the child's parents yes(like spanking), but if it is parental abuse or abuse from any other person it is considered child abuse
Yes it could.
abuse the child mentally or physically
Yes, unless the favoritism extends to a point in which one child suffers actual physical or mental harm.
Yes.
Yes, it is. Slapping your child is physically abusing them.
false
If a child has been left with no money, inadequate food, no shelter, and no clothing; this is considered child abandonment. In Georgia, the state can take the child away because this is considered abuse.
Florida restricts all spanking as child abuse. Florida law states that any act that can physically or mentally hurt a child is considered child abuse and you can be charged with a felony for it.
Difficult to answer simply. No, not in a legal sense. Attempted murder is a completely different offence. Of course the attempted murder of a child IS abuse but the charge is different, it may also be an additional charge. Being charged with child abuse is not the same as being charged with the attempted murder of a child.
