It will cause flooding in some coastal areas and result in more powerful storms. It will destroy some farm land and inhabitable areas while opening up some new ones forcing migration.

How detrimental these effects really are is up for debate. For instance to avoid flooding we could just move inland or build better flood control.

If scientists do not find a way to prevent global disasters from happening we will be severely devastated, scientists are working on making our earth more green and not you so much oil so there is less pollution.

Most of us are unaware of the massive, continual movement of our oceans' water. It's a very very important thing. It allows many millions of us to live where we would have great difficulty living otherwise. There's a conveyor belt or river of water in our planet's oceans that moves the cold water to the deepest areas which brings warmer water to places, helping those places stay in moderate, livable, temperature ranges. It ALSO allows the trillions of krill to reproduce and feed the small and larger fish. If the krill all die, so will many many fish!

Both will suffer the immediate effects first; both of the Predator and the Prey.

Bad means rising sea levels and higher storm surges; it means coastal inundation and loss of beaches and coastal properties. It means the displacement of entire populations in Bangladesh and some Pacific Island nations. This means that global warming is indeed harmful.

Bad means more prolonged droughts in some areas and more frequent severe floods in others; it means more intense storm activity and resultant economic losses; it means higher insurance premiums for those not directly affected but who insure against the possibility. This means that global warming is very harmful.

Bad means species extinction and loss of biodiversity over time. Global warming really is harmful, and these are just some of the reasons.

global warming is bad because it is killing our earth by melting icebergs and icecaps. yes people might say it is good because it keeps us from freezing to death. But we need to conserve and be aware of our enviroment because we're not the only ones on the planet. Humans are not alone. we have dogs, cats, polar bears, tigers, penguins and all the other animals. As the most intelligent and capable beings ont eh planet, it's our job to take care of the other forms of life too. and nom, I don't mean stuff everythying in a Zoo so we can do whatever we want with the planet, I mean make it better so that ALL living things can live in their natural environments. We are the caretakers of the world, it's our responsibility to NOT kill the planet! we're the smartest creatures alive! but we consume the planet like it has no end. Everything ends at some time, but that doesn't mean we have to make the world end sooner than we already are!!! D:< Maybe we can't stop global warming, but we can try. Maybe half the world will ignore us, but we can still do our part in trying to save our planet.

There is a lot of inertia with atmospheric CO2 levels. We have bumped them up from 280 parts per million (ppm) to 395 ppm, and we will likely exceed 500 ppm by 2050 at the current rate.

This is not considered sustainable. Most climate scientist believe 350 ppm is close to the maximum sustainable CO2 level. The temperature rise from the current 395 ppm alone is expected to continue for several centuries.

The negative effects are rising ocean levels as glaciers melt. Greenland ice alone will contribute close to 20 feet. This will likely increase the severity of storms, but is not expected to increase their frequency.

Other consequences are heat waves, which often claim the lives of thousands of people. 35,000 people died from heat exhaustion in Europe in August, 2003. Only 750 people died in the 1995 Chicago heat wave.

Tropical diseases are expected to spread to more northerly latitudes. Animal migrations are already noted, but the current rate of climate change is much faster than natural change, which may lead to the extinction of numerous species.

the sun rays go through the natural ozone layer, then some of them get absorbed by the earth, and some of them have to go back into the space. the ozone layer gets thicker because of our men-made gases such as methane and carbon dioxide. It results with the sun rays not coming out, the stay in our atmosphere, and make the earth become hotter, the are getting reflected by the surface and then by the ozone layer.

For some humans global warming will bring positive benefits. Longer growing seasons, more favorable climate. For a great many, however, there will be economic hardships created by more severe weather, drought, and flooding. Roughly a billion people may be expected to emigrate to other locations, putting additional strain on local resources there. So, in general, global warming won't be the overall "boon" some expect.

When global warming becomes more severe, rising sea levels would flood coastal areas, where most humans live -- stronger and more frequent hurricanes would spread the destruction even farther inland. Warmer weather would spread incurable diseases like malaria that are now largely confined to the tropics. Wildfires, drought and heat waves would devastate vast areas. The widespread collapse of agriculture would bring worldwide famine.

All these catastrophes combined would overwhelm even the resources of stable, industrialized nations. Increased competition for fewer resources could spark unprecedented outbreaks of crime, civil unrest and global warfare. Mass extinctions would be inevitable, though human civilization would probably survive in some form. Perhaps worst, it's believed that the impacts of climate change will persist for many centuries.

Fortunately, non of these things have been observed as of yet, nor are they realistic projections.

There some debate in scientific communities as to wither not the Climate Change is bad, for one many ipcc models predicting the disaster's as seen in Al Gore documentary are largely discredited. on the other had there is some evidence in the geological record that warmer temperatures lead to more stable conditions.

we do know how ever that warmer period tend to mean prosperous times in history such as the roman warm period. Also colder period can be associated with decline so as the dark ages which coincide with the end of the roman warm period and cold winters.

Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases such as CO2 and Water vapour and many others. Global warming makes temperature increase by these gases by creating a ingoing but no outgoing way for the heat rays coming from sun. The temperature increase which makes ice caps and icebergs melt. Slowly and slowly the water level is rising, the coastal areas are submerging. If the melting continues, whole land mass will submerge and we will be under water! THis is not the only harmful effect. The heating can also cause the extinction of animals which cannot bear increase in temperature like penguins and other.

It's not too bad for the earth. The earth has had many hot periods in its time.

Global Warming will be very bad for LIFE on earth. All living things will be put in danger if we cannot slow this warming.

Global warming is a type of climate change. The warming means that the world will get hotter. The extra warming is caused by heat being trapped in the atmosphere.
