Teachers also need to know typical attention spans so that they do not bore their students. They need to know typical cognitive levels so that they do not condescend to their students or pile on too much difficult work. They need to know typical interaction patterns so that recognize if a child is feeling left out or intimidated. They need to know how often children need to go to the bathroom, how often they need to eat, how often they need to run around and when they might want to rest.

In interrogation, you're generally going to look for much more than simple verbal reponses from the perpetrator. You need to look for cues (tells that imply the person is lyin…g/truthful, angry, scared, etc.). These pychological and behavioral traits are embedded in us as human beings. As an officer, one must understand these cues to be able to properly "read" the suspect. Otherwise, just listening to one's verbal answers is only 10% of what's actually taking place.
