It also carries immunoglobulins and a variety of growth factors. Most prepared formulas can only approximate the nutritional benefits of human breast milk. It is believed that breastfeeding strengthens the bond between mother and baby, and is thought to help reduce the incidence or lessen the severity of maternal post-partum depression.
