Why is it important for all FedEx Kink o's stores to have the same equipment and offer the same services?

I think the first and foremost reason is standardization and streamlining the operation. Employees can be moved from one store to the other and start working seamlessly.
Second is the saving in equipment which is offered to them as a national (or international) account. When buying or leasing thousands of machines at a time, they are in a good position to dictate their demands and prices, and let the vendors fight it out between themselves. I do believe they recently changed from Xerox to Cannon and one another brand that escapes my mind...HP perhas.
I am sure there are many other reasons, this is just what popped in my mind.
