It is recommended that everybody should do a First Aid + CPR course in their lifetime because it not only teaches you how to treat emergency wounds but also makes you the first person on the scene that can actually save a life. Believe it or not in most cases, the first aid provider (FAP) are usually the people who are responsible for saving the person's life more than the doctor. This is because you are able to stop bleeding, able to secure the patient from any dangers (unfavorable surroundings) and also help contact the emergency services for further help. Without these, even the world's best doctor cannot treat a patient who was "too late" to arrive at the hospital.

You will also learn how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) which has proven to resuscitate nearly 80% to 90% of all heart attack victims who can be treated in the first 10 minutes of their heart attack. In these situations, a FAP is the only person that can save a person's life by not only stopping their bleeding or securing their position but also by giving someone a gift of life.
