because it produces so much of the fish sold in metro-manila.
palawan straddles the south china sea and the sulu sea with celebes sea below, and it has more than 2,000 kilometers of coastline in its 1,700 islands and islets.
thus in terms of sea space where commercial fishing may be done nearshore and offshore, it has the greatest area compared to other provinces in the country, even those that are in the Pacific Ocean, the Philippine sea and the northern south china sea.
from the apo reefs to north borneo, from the spratlys to beyond tubbataha reefs, palawan seas are simply the largest in terms of area, and thus should contain the most fish. logical, neh?
