Answer 1

All kinds of food are allowed to be eaten except carrion, blood, pork, and what has been consecrated to other than Allah.

Pork is prohibited first because it is a command from God that should not be debated but should be followed and obeyed.

The major holy books of Islam are the Quran, the Torah, the Psalms, and the Injil (or Gospel). Dietary laws for Jews and Muslim are found in the Torah. While there are certain dietary benefits to eating halal and haram (kosher or Kashrut in Judaism), and perhaps one of the reason for the restriction on consuming pork is that pigs consume a quantity of food that is disproportional to their value as a food source, the primary reason that Muslims do not eat pork is because the Torah says not to. No other reason is necessary.

Answer 2

It is partly because pork is from pigs. Pigs eat their own waste and that waste gets turned into pig fat. Then the pig gets slaughtered and then butchers cut and cook the fat of the pig and so technically your eating the pig's digested food.

Because its a filthy animal and the Qur'an says not to eat the pig... The pig is one of those animals that will eat most or all things u put in front of them... Come on! The animal rolls around in mud and its filth.

A more realistic perspective.

The fact is that the Pig is not really a filthy animal unless the man that looks after the pig is an animal that does not keep his animals in humane and reasonable conditions. A pig if given the choice is a very clean animal. not to mention very intelligent. However having said that, The reason most likely has something to do with the fact that pork is quick to spoil and therefore is more likely to cause illness among its consumers. Similar rules apply to seafood's that do not have scales. and probably for the same reason.

It is a command from God not to eat pork; as explicitly mentioned inb Quran and by prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Quran says: "Say (O Muhammad): I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maytah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork); for that surely, is impure or impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allaah (or has been slaughtered for idols, or on which Allaah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering)…"(Al-An'aam: 145)

By the mercy of god and his kindness toward us , God has permitted us to eat all good things, and He has not forbidden anything but those that are impure. God says (interpretation of the meaning):

"…he allows them as lawful At-Tayyibaat (i.e. all good and lawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods), and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khabaa'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods)…" (Al-A'raaf: 157)

It is quoted that:

Pork is regarded as one of the kinds of meat that contain the most cholesterol, an increase of which in the bloodstream leads to an increased likelihood of blocked arteries. The fatty acids in pork are also of an unusual formation, when compared with the fatty acids in other types of food, which makes them more easily absorbed by the body, thus increasing cholesterol levels.

‎Pork meat and pork fat contribute to the spread of cancers of the colon, rectum, prostate and blood.

‎Pork meat and pork fat contribute to obesity and related diseases that are difficult to treat.

‎Eating pork leads to scabies, Allergies and stomach ulcers.

Eating pork causes lung infections which result from tapeworms, lungworms and microbial infections of the lungs.

It is also forbidden in Judaism (and also in Chruistianity although not adhered to this command)

Eating pork is prohibited in Islam and Judaism. To these two religions it is a command from God that should not be debated but should be followed and obeyed.

There are no other religions or ethnic groups that prohibit eating pork.

Vegetarians and vegans do not eat pork because it is meat.

Wisdom of God. Pigs have the largest number of parasites than any other animal, so it's because God wants the best for us that he forbade it.
