Prayer in schools is not illegal (in the United States, at least). It's normally considered illegal (specifically, a First Amendment violation) for a public school to require prayer or for formal prayers to be lead by a teacher or school official, but it's not illegal for an individual student to pray, or not, as they choose (and it's at least arguable that prohibiting prayer entirely would also be a First Amendment violation).

Yes, but some people have been taken to court in recent years for praying to God publicly.
Liberty Councel and the Alliance Defending Freedom have successfully won some cases in favor of the praying individual, but I doubt all cases have been won.

It may not be illegal but it is against the requirements of the Christian Bible. Matthew 6:5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others.

Actually, its voluntary. Teachers, coaches, and etc. can't make you participate or do it. The students have to lead the prayer themselves. So no its not illegal.

How do Muslim children pray at school In Islamic schools students are given a prayer break and pray together in congregation.?

In non-Islamic schools, students or their parents make arrangements with the school administration for Muslim children to have a time and place to pray. Muslim students generally will have to offer only the zhur (noon) prayer at school, although in winter, at high latitudes, they might also have to offer the fajr (dawn) and/or asr (afternoon) prayers at school, as well.

Is it legal to allow students to pray in school the day after a classmate dies?

YES 100% legal.... By Law students can pray any time they wish to do so as long as it is not disrupting the class or the function of the school... Prayer was never removed from public schools, the only legal restrictions the schools have concerning prayer is that the schools can not endorse any religion, nor make prayer or other religious acts manditory for students to participate in..Schools must remain 100% neutral concerning religion... Schools often set aside free time for students so they can pray, observe moments of silence or pay other respects to a fallen class member, they also set time aside and provide grief counselling for students as well...Students who do not wish to participate are not required to do so... By doing this the only thing the school is endorsing is the Free Time not the religious aspects...

Prayer before the start of the class for students?

Your question is not clear. Are you meaning to ask if students do in places? Or perhaps if one thinks they should? If you go to a catholic school I suppose, any school of religion. But not public schools in America or Canada or most modernized countries as they believe in a and have laws against religious suppression so students would not be forced to pray for a god they do not have.
