It's a disturbing popularity, if you ask me. I can't even count the many times I have seen my age mates walking around school with pregnant bellies throughout the years of high school I have so far completed. It bothers me to no end, actually, because I don't understand how they could let that happen. I mean, yeah, condoms break, but if they do, don't continue to have sex, stop and get a new one! And not using condoms at all, thinking that you won't get pregnant...eh, doesn't work. Douching up there only pushes the semen further into a girl as well, so that definitely doesn't work. I wouldn't be complaining about teen pregnancy so much if the teen actually was planning the pregnancy, but nowadays, I find it really wrong to know that there are a group of girls laughing their asses off about their abortion experiences. That's not cute, and it never will be. Of course, I do want to have sex, but it's not like I need a condom, unless a sterile guy can get you pregnant. If so, please let me know before I ruin my adolescence!
Between the ages of 15-19, there are 750,000 pregnancies.

It isn't that teen pregnancy is popular, but that teens tend to think it "won't happen to them", or that it "doesn't happen the first time", both of which are misconceptions. But there are some who think having a baby is "romantic", or that a baby will help them "have someone to love". This is a misconception, too. Pregnancy can, and does, occur the first time a girl has sex, and can also happen if the boy "pulls out" before ejaculation, too. The best way to prevent pregnancy is by abstinence, but if teens are going to have sex, use common sense, and use precautions. Condoms are cheap, and cost far less than medical bills and raising a child, not to mention how it changes the REST of your life.
Even though the teen pregnancy rate has declined over the past few decades, the fact of the matter is that the United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate of the Western industrialized world. It is true that the teen pregnancy and Birth Rate was much higher prior to 1980 (and especially in the 1950s and 1960s), but at the time young women were getting married and having children before the age of 20. Most of the teen pregnancies occurring before 1980 were to married women; now most of today's teen mothers are unwed. Here are some more interesting teen pregnancy statistics:

Almost 750,000 U.S. women aged 15-19 become pregnant a year out of 6 million pregnancies over all in a year.
I think because teenagers are getting more freedom and are thinking it will not happen to them.
According to what I have read they are not rising.
Because they might know they are pregnant, or think they are safe about it.... and dont do nothing about it.
But it's better if they wear a condom.
