Because her and the baby both need enough strength for the birth and both mother and baby need nutrients and vitamins for after the birth. The baby needs them for his or her immune system when he or she arrives in the world, out of the safety of the womb, and the mother needs them to recover after the birth, because her body has been through so much

∙ 6y agoNutrition is important during your entire life. Nutrition is more important during pregnancy as the new life is growing inside the body of the pregnant lady. That is the future of the humanity. The fetus should get enough of nutrients needed for it's growth. It is the right of the fetus to get the same. So special diet has to be given to the pregnant women, with special care.
