Small and occasional use of alcohol is harmless and has in fact proved to be benificial. It is long term habitual use which is dangerous and that includes all those people who drink 4/5 drinks a day 4/5 times a week. That is an enormous amount of people. Primary sites for harm are the brain cells destroyed as they are exposed, and the liver which has the job of cleaning the alcohol out of your body. Sooner or later the liver will suffer. It is also proven Cancer and Cardio-vascular problems are more likely. Secondary harm comes from changes in social behavior, violence, drink-driving, time lost from work. Alcohol harms not only you but all those around you.
PS I am not a Saint I love a beer myself but caution must be excercised, those who become addicted get no warning.
