Oceans are important to us as-
1. It has a great impact on the global climate pattern.
2. The oceans act as great reserves of heat as compared to land because oceans heat up and cool down relatively very slowly as compared to the land.
3. Oceans are the main source of moisture and consequently of rain. Thus, the areas surrounded by oceans have more rains than vast land surfaces. Areas covered more by land are more polluted than areas covered by water bodies.
4. The boundaries of oceans and continents provide natural boundaries to many countries of the world.
