Even though it may seem too cold and barren for any life, the tundra biome is an important region that is full of different plants and animals. We need the tundra because it has a part in creating the biodiversity (the variety of species) of the Earth. Biodiversity is important because it makes Earth what it is. We depend on various living species- some provide us with food, some (such as decomposers) clean up after us, some plants (especially in the tropics) make up important medicines, etc. You'd think that the tundra is useless, but without a certain biome or living species, life would not be the same. Everything on the Earth is interconnected, so preservation of nature is so important. That is why the tundra is globally important.
This biome is important because the tundra holds species that may can only be found only in the North or South Pole. Like maybe penguins or the polar bear. Even though that they could be found in captive in zoos, the animals would one day die or might be released. But because of global warming and the oil spills, native species of the tundra are being murdered, or being killed. Some animals, like the caribou, can swim really well, but they are not really able to swim to the other pole to survive. Oil spills can spread in the water where it could reach to plants and animals and could severly injure them, or could be fatal to them. Also, global warming (as you know) is warming up the world, and is melting up the glaciers and is flooding the planet. Some small islands, like Bora Bora that is by the Polynesian Triangle, is being flooded. So we need to help the biome be stable and so that no more species would be extinct, or be dead and never could be revived ever again.
it is important because there are a variety of animals and plants. The permafrost also shows the changes in climate and helps us track global warming.
its important because we need glaciiers and if it mealts the polar bears and other artic animals die out and beecom instice
whats so important about the tundra is that going to a polar tundra is very dangerous and deadly and that its a plain a treeless plain.
The tundra is home to a variety of plants and animals is reason enough to call the tundra important, but this region of the world has other characteristics vital to life as we know it....
i want to know too :(
The Tundra is so globally important because, it his home to thousands of plants and animals.
its not important it is to cold to tan
its not important it is to cold to tan
because it is important as the grassland is important too.
because is is cool
the permafrost.without permafrost it cant be considered a tundra.
There are many animals in the Tundra that are in danger of being extinct therefore it is important to save the tundra so many other people in the future cold experience the beauties of the Arctic Tundra, Antarctic Tundra and the Alpine Tundra.
tundra
i think it is to eat other animals
tundra is important to economy beacuse it keeps fresh water
Tundra covers a tenth of the world's land area and is an important ecology, locally and with benefits for the entire world. Around one third of the world's soil-bound carbon is held in the frozen tundra, retaining a huge volume of carbon dioxide that would be released into the atmosphere if the tundra permafrost thaws. The tundra is a fragile environment that can easily be damaged or destroyed. Global warming is the most important threat on a large scale, since this has the potential to melt the ice in the tundra and thus release the carbon dioxide. Another important threat comes from tailings spills and oil spills from mining operations and oil drilling or pipeline leaks. Ozone depletion is gradually damaging tundra plantlife and impacting the already limited biodiversity. Even vehicle tracks and roads can have an inordinate harmful impact on the tundra.
Globally.
