My first thought would be an incomplete spay surgery in which part of an ovary was left within the dog's body. Even a small ovarian remnant is enough to produce the hormones resulting in signs of heat, including swelling of the vulva and estrus bleeding or spotting. However, your dog will still be incapable of becoming pregnant, as the uterus would have been removed completely.

There are other conditions that can cause similar signs, including adrenal tumors and brain tumors, but an incomplete spay would be my primary differential diagnosis, particularly in a young dog that has just been spayed.

Depends on how long ago the dog was spayed. If she was spayed very recently, pain medications may be making her incontinent; talk to your Vet about whether her dose can be lowered and still provide adequate pain relief, or whether another pain killer is available for her. If she was spayed a while ago, and has just started urinating in the house, this behavior may or may not be related to her surgery. If she was spayed a while ago, and has been urinating in the house since her surgery, she may be one of the unfortunate few for whom incontinence is a side-effect of spaying. In any event, a conversation with your Vet about the dog's apparent incontinence is in order.

She is on her period.

The above answer is COMPLETELY incorrect. Female, spayed dogs do NOT get a period if the surgery was done correctly. If your dog is peeing blood and is spayed, it is most likely a urinary tract infection or bladder stones. A urinalysis would need to be done and if antibiotics do not work, a x-ray needs to be taken to check for bladder stones.

There are many causes of blood in the urine of dogs. First thing to look for is whether the pee is pinkish or bright red. If pink in color then the blood is mixed with the urine. If bright red, the blood is coming from the vagina or rectum. You need to take your dog to the Veterinarian unless the dog is a female as a female will bleed for 7 to 10 days when in heat.

Possible problems for blood in the urine are: urinary tract infections: you will notice the dog straining to pee and licking the genital area. Antibiotics are required. Bladder stones: painful urination and straining. Requires dietary changes and if the stones are large they need to be removed surgically. In male dogs it could be a Prostate infection: enlarged prostate, difficult and painful urination, straining to pee, loss of appetite, and fever. See the vet. For female dogs who are not in heat it could be a uterine infection and the urine will have the color of tomato soup. Antibiotics required. There are a few other possibilities such as ticks, or the dog may have eaten rat poison containing warfarin (from catching a gopher or other rodent).

This is NOT normal, so get her back into the Veterinarian who spayed her or any Vet who can see her immediately. Do not put this off or you will have a dead dog.

What if your cat is peeing a lot and bleeding a little shes spayed?

Take the cat to the vet. They may have a UTI (urinary tract infection). Also the wording of the question is a little confusing. Did you mean that there is blood in the cats urine? and that the cat is spayed? Did the cat just get spayed? If so you should take the cat to the vet ASAP. It could be related.

I suggest that your dog has been spayed. If your dog has been spayed she will not go into heat.

Can two dogs have puppies when one is spayed and the other is not?

Spaying is the removal of the ovaries from a female dog. No dog that is spayed can have puppies. No female dog can have puppies with another female dog. If you are asking about a male dog, the correct term is neutered, not spayed.

Why would a spayed female canine bleed?

If your spayed dog is bleeding, there is a seriousproblem. Spayed dogs don't bleed (in heat terms), period. You really need to see the vet if there is blood or anything else coming from the vulva from a fixed dog.
