Try turning the MONITOR off and then on again. If it doesn't work, change your computer color settings.
You can monitor distributor degrees with a timing light.
Most likely water damage.Water got into one of the outer layers of the display.Try putting indirect heat on it. No hairdryers! Will absolutely destroy it. Try turning up the heat at home. The screen needs to dry for awhile, like a week. So no turning the monitor on. You can use the computer if you can somehow project the monitor on another screen or your TV.
You cannot do that as turning off the monitor turns off the computer. You can however put it to sleep which uses almost no energy. Click the Apple logo and scroll down and click Sleep.
Try to get one more monitor just to check. If another monitor works with your computer, you have most likely problems with your video card (if you are not lucky it can be motherboard, or motherboard + video card).
A computer can not turn off by itself. The monitor just turns blank it you leave it. To turn off the computer you have to prees the on button on your computer. If you press the botton on the monitor it is not turning the computer off... just the screen.
The monitor hold 20,000 or more volts (depending on the monitor size and components). Voltage can still be present after turning off the power. Most technicians who work on monitors have special training in working on high-voltage equipment. If you must remove the monitor case to work inside a monitor, safety rules include the following: (1) do not wear the antistatic wrist strap; (2) unplug the AC cord from the monitor or wall outlet; (3) do not use regular test equipment to measure the monitor's high voltages.
