Avatar the Last Airbender is over, the story has come to a close. Aang has accomplished his goal as the Avatar, the the world is at peace. Creators Mike and Bryan say they are finished with Aang's story, but not with the Avatar world, so look out for a spin off series!

∙ 14y agoThe writers decided not to make a season 4 but there is a movie. There's no season 4 because I think some of the writers were tired of making it. I <3 Avatar. I'm really mad! We are all hoping that they will make season 4 after the movie, but I doubt it. :(

∙ 14y agoThough there is speculation that a season four will be coming out one day- the creators of Avatar only planned to have 3 seasons- just long enough for Aang to learn Earth, Water and Fire bending and to defeat the firelord. There MAY be a book 4 due to the popularity of the show.

∙ 13y agoThey only made three because Aang only needed to learn three elements. If you look back the first is water, then comes earth, and fire is the last one and once he knows all four he defeats the fire lord ending the series. Though a new series is in the making. Avatar: The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the fire lords defeat and there is now a new avatar, a southern water tribe girl named Korra. She has masted three of the four elements and now looks for Aang and Katara's son Tenzin to teach her the final element, air. The series is set to be released next year.

Although I'll be sad if this is true, I think Book 3 WILL be the last we will see of THIS chapter of AVATAR. But because the avatar's life spans genaration, I do think that another chapter in a more modern age could come sooner than you might think. A good begining would be that the world has evolved past the bending arts, but a new war could bring about the avatar to restore the balence and re-introduce the bending arts to the 4 elementle nations.
